I agree with all of his points also. There are people who try to run Windows computers with no antivirus installed or an out of date antivirus. And most people who have problems go to the wrong kinds of websites, download all kinds of garbage (look at that nice screensaver!) and do other silly stuff that gets them in trouble. So far most of the malware is not compatible with Mac OS X but there will be malware for Mac OS X when it is popular enough. And malware for Linux OSs when they are popular enough. And Apple Computers are out of the reach pricewise for most of those people who do the silly stuff.
I run Windows Vista Home Premium on my Windows computer and I also have an iMac. At work we run mostly Windows XP (and that will probably continue indefinitely) and we have Windows and Unix servers. There are more than 300 people where I work and I think I may well be the only person who runs a Mac (at home). And there are far more Windows computers than some think. Many of our Windows computers are never hooked up to the internet and run in specialized equipment.
I am not wildly fond of Windows. There are some irritations with Windows that never seem to be changed. But Windows runs far better than the distractors claim. And a Windows computer is cheaper than a comparable Mac, more compatible with software and hardware than a Mac or a computer running Linux, and good enough to get the job done.
Mac OS X runs very well (I think 'Tiger' was the best) and is very enjoyable to work with until you discover your printer or scanner might not be compatible, or you have to wait a long time until Photoshop is compatible. Please do not tell me this is not true. I run both a Windows computer and a Mac. My printer, my scanners, and Photoshop software were compatible with the Windows computer long before the Mac was compatible. I personally know what the truth is. Of course on an Intel Mac you can also run Windows in Boot Camp.
Personally I like BOTH Windows and Mac OS X. If I had to choose one over the other I probably would choose Mac OS X IF there were no compatiblity problems and IF Mac computers were not so expensive. If a Mac Pro desktop was reasonable in price I would probably buy one and run it and Windows in Boot Camp on the same machine. Otherwise, a Windows computer is good enough and cheaper.
