As I understand it... The Canadian plant is the only plant anywhere outside of Japan that makes Lexus. Yay us!

I'm not sure if this is still the case, but for many years, a certain number of Toyota Camry cars were made in the USA, some in Canada, and some in Japan.

My mom's 2002 Toyota Solara 2.4 (Camry with 2 doors basically) was built in Canada. I sang the South Park song about Canada when the car had to have the oil pan gasket replaced at the dealership.

South Park Song... You gotta come up here and really see Canada. It's a beautiful country with lots of beer and snow all year round. hehehehe

Don't get too excited about "made in Japan". My new 2006 RSX was made in Japan and had multiple problems. Some moderate and annoying but some were so profound it really made my doubt how masterfully my car was assembled. The 2007 Accord that replaced it is better quality and a better value. It was made in Ohio.

Acura: Current cars

TL: Ohio
MDX: Ontario
RDX: Ohio, maybe? VIN numbers all start with 5.
RL and TSX: Japan

Previously made
Integra (All): Japan
Legend (All): Japan
First gen RL: Japan
NSX: Japan
First gen 3.2TL and 2.5TL: Japan
First gen MDX: Ontario
RSX: Japan
2nd gen TL and CL: Ohio

So true...

My dad's 1995 Honda Accord (US built) gave him zero problems for 130,000 miles.

My mom's Japan built Honda CRV had the AC compressor fail 3 times in 40,000 miles.

so Honda/Acura truths:

The Honda Fit, Honda S2000 and Honda Civic Hybrid are all 100% Japan origin vehicles.

The following Honda plants produce Honda vehicles (bold indicates non-US models):

East Liberty, Ohio, USA: CR-V, Element, Civic, Civic GX

Alliston, Ontario, Canada: Ridgeline, Pilot, MDX, Civic, Civic Si, CSX

Lincoln, Alabama, USA: Odyssey, Pilot

Marysville, Ohio, USA: Accord, TL, RDX

Swindon, England: Civic, CR-V

Saitama Japan: Legend (RL), Accord, Odyssey, Accord Euro, Inspire, Step Wagon, CR-V, Elysion, Freed

Suzuka, Japan: Civic, Civic Hybrid, Edix, Stream, Crossroad, S2000, Fit, Airwave

Sao Paulo; Brazil: Civic, Fit

Greensburg, Indiana, USA: Civic

Dongfeng, China: CR-V, Civic

those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head...

there's probably a couple that I missed.
