commentary on fuel additive alcohols

The link below is for a product that tests for alcohol in fuel. As part of their sales pitch, they list different alcohols that are present in specific fuel additives. I'm not convinced that the website's concerns and/or warnings are particularly useful, but I thought that this group may find the fuel additive list interesting.

Why no big names like Techron, Vpower, Lucas, Redline??????

rg200amp: I think that the list is primarily for additives with significant alcohol content. I don't recall any alcohols in Techron or in Vpower. Lucas UCL seems to mostly mineral oil (or at least doesn't contain anything else that warrants inclusion on an MSDS). However, Redline Complete Fuel System Cleaner contains a significant amount of 2-Ethylhexanol, an alcohol. I guess that the list may be oriented towards shorter alcohols that will hold water well. 2-Ethylhexanol does not dissolve in water very well.
