I'm going to try out Enviromax Plus fuel catalyst.

I've seen this product on the news before.
BITOG search yielded no results or this product.
Here's an older video, but still relevant.

Do you have a spouse? If so, try it on a number of tanks in her car and record the results. Don't tell her which tanks have the additive and which don't.

If it's really the additive, and not the effects of the user of the product driving in a more careful fashion to get better mileage, it should be clear.

I suspect most gains are due not to the product, but the users increase awareness of fuel economy when they start using it.

I have a dial up connection, and quit after seeing race cars and a few words about how it is better for your children and grandchildren.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

I already reviewed that site, and that dude doesn't actually refute EnviroMax, he simply refutes fuel savers in general.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

:D:D:D:D:D:D

As I can see (based on your profile as an aviation electrician) that you are a highly-educated professional with academic discipline and scientific mindset, I'm surprised that you would go for "gadgets" that have no rigid scientific proofs nor solid research quality results to back their products.

So much for the laughing. At least I have a family to raise and I'm not parting my hard-earned money just for that.

LOLOLOLOL!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

If this product actually works as advertised, then I will be saving more money than I've spent on the product. I'm willing to spend a little for an experiment. How much did I spend on Auto Rx? $20 a bottle? It works as advertised. Perhaps this stuff works, too.

LOLOLOLOL!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

If this stuff does what "they" claim it does... That would be huge!

But it's those same "huge claims" that raise the red flag based on my internal barometer.

(I still need to try our locally made E3 fuel stuff. Sorry for my procrastination on testing it.)

Found an MSDS at http://www.envirofuelplus.com/assets/docs/EMP_MSDS_June_2005.pdf, nothing extraordinary, but a solvent mixture of solvents (xylene, toluene, etc.) can work better than the individual chemicals themselves, an example is stoddard solvent, also called mineral spirits. I would think this particular mixture has been evaluated at some time by industrial chemists. A series of blind tests would tell you how well this Enviromax works.

I've used all kinds of additives over the years (and a lot of them I can't find anymore, hmmm...). They're fun to try as long as they don't burn a big hole your wallet or pistons. (Still wondering what happened to X1R).

Based on the patent, the catalyst(s) are metal oxides- preferably zinc, iron, and magnesium. It sounds like you may want to watch for deposits on the plugs and hope that you don't poison your catalytic converter over time. The items listed on the MSDS are essentially the carrier compounds. A link to the patent is listed below. As an alternative to the long link, you can go to http://www.uspto.gov and search by patent number 5,266,082. If you take the time to read the patent, you may want to skip to example 12 - it seems to be the only treatment that "worked".

That is the order I placed for EnviroMax Plus

As I mentioned earlier I had luck with Dipetane increasing mileage to a noticable amount but the cost of the product at least with my vehicles needs gas to be about $4.50 a gallon to actually save money.

We will see what this product does.

Cool. I haven't had it in my Trooper long enough to see any mileage gains, but it's already running smoother with extra pick-up.

I just wish I could find something that would quieten my lifter noise. ARX has worked wonders for compression and drive-ability, but the noise continues.
