This guy buzzed the waterfowl at the Lake late today, his mere appearance provoked a mass exodus of assorted ducks and geese.
I can't tell what he is yet, still looking.
Funny thing, last night at dusk I saw two big birds of prey of some kind fishing at this same location. I though they were ospreys, but their plummage was too dark.
Could be a juvenile baldy? It looks a lot like a Goldie, though. I was looking to see which eagles range over you area and I did see the Bald and the Golden but I am not sure if any other Eagles inhabit that region.
There's a big buteo called the Ferruginous Hawk, bigger than a red-tail, but they tend to live out in the prairies, and this one really does look like an eagle.
