Hi Folks,

1999 Chevy Suburban Diesel 6.5L K1500
with Chevron Delo 400

Just got the latest oil sample results back and wear looks ok but I'm concerned about possible coolant contamination. So is it a sure thing that the increasing Boron along with high sodium and potassium are from coolant? Or could Boron be from additives and NA and K be from running waste veg oil ?

thanks in advance for your ideas,

WOW! Look at that Boron- maybe Chevron reversed the Boron and Moly amounts. Is that CJ4 Delo or CI4+?

I guess they upped the boron and lowered the moly. Other than that, I wouldn't be too concerned about your numbers there, doesn't look bad. I'm sure someone who has had a similar experience will chime in.

As you could probably tell...I was hoping you'd say something like that!

I just did a search and found a test of virgin Delo LE 400 showed Boron at 450!

Definitely stick with Delo though- great stuff.
