62 Pete. Small Cam Cummins, rotella 15w/40

A few weeks ago I thought I heard a new noise coming from my NT280 Cummins. I must be hearing things? Maybe a wrist pin or loose rocker but nothing fatal anyway.

Truck is my toy and doesn't work any. Had about 1500 miles on this sample, oil has been in it since May 07 though.

How is this for a 45 yr old engine?

This is a stupid ? but...is a 62 Pete a Cummins engine in a Peterbuilt semi?

The truck is a 1962 Peterbilt with a Cummins engine. Most truck builders dont make engines. Mack, Volvo and Mercedes do. The rest can be ordered with Cummins, Caterpiller or Detroit diesel engines.

This engine is 45 yrs old! I have no history on it so I keep track of it with oil samples. It's pretty noisey but seems to be healthy so I'll keep runnin it
