comp erases everything after shutting down

how or here can i go to keep the comp from erasing passwords,websites that i've been to,etc. xp home. i have to log on eveytime i go to a website

Do you have cookies enabled? On forums and such, you have to click a little check box (log me in everytime) so the cookie is downloaded.

i know about the box,but even all the url's i type don't stay there.the history also erases automatically.

Use Firefox. Makes these settings much more configurable (site by site, if you like)

You probably did some super security upgrade with a windows update. General security/privacy settings get too aggressive soemtimes especially when one thinks they're "locking down".

i'm using firefox already.where do i go to have comp accept and keep everything?

On the top web page go to tools. Press options, privacy, and on the bottom private data. Press settings and check what option you want.
