Bombardier 5w40 Synthetic
OEM Oil filter
15 hours on oil/40 hours on engine
1.5 L 3 cylinder 4 stroke Naturally Aspirated (NA) Engine
Analysis by Terry Dyson
Note the low flashpoint and high fuel dilution.
I am changing to RLI Biosyn 5w40 HD.

viscosity breakdown for a 40w
CU 11 AL 20, High? don't know without baseline

fuel dilution seems highs but may be normal for Rotax engine

i would have the unit serviced and checked by the dealer

also call and discuss with Bombardier oil choices

I ran regular gas, I don't know who makes Bombardier's oil and have been unable to find any info on it.

There is quite a bit of viscosity breakdown due to shear and fuel dilution. There is little to service on this engine, it is a modern fuel injected engine, service consists of spark plugs, oil change, and coolant change along with checking clamps for tightness. The manual calls for 10w40 SL oil, so for this naturally aspirated (rather than supercharged) 4tec engine almost any oil will work. I am trying the Biosyn to reduce the fuel dilution.

there is probably a computer system controlling the engine with analysis/error checking.
have the Bombardier shop check the computer for fuel system problems, electronic timing problems
many of these small high tech engines require shop retorquing after set # of hours

I don't have a baseline UOA for this engine. The engine only has the equivalent of 2500 miles on it (assuming 50 hours at 50 mph) so it may not be fully broken in. Usually it is running between 4500 and 6000 RPM, with occasional WOT at 7k.
