Clean your room by cramming everything in the closet! I may have tried that a time or two, but it didn't fly....Zeibart rubber dog doo doo coating covers rust. Oil based coatings prevent it.

It never worked! Our moms must've both come from the same Mom School.Clean your room by cramming everything in the closet! I may have tried that a time or two, but it didn't fly....
You are supposed to do it on a new vehicle, not one that has dirt ,light corrosion and grime built up on it.My first car had been Zierbarted when it was supposedly 2-3 years old. It was the black tar-like substance. I don't know if that was the underlying issue, or if it was something else.... That car turned into Swiss cheese.
Ziebart is oil based I can post MSDS if you like.Zeibart rubber dog doo doo coating covers rust. Oil based coatings prevent it.

I do not know about Krown or Rust check have not seen these in the upper midwest. As for fluid film I sprayed that on my last truck that was not Ziebarted.I only sprayed the brake lines on my 14 year old truck starting at 8 years old at 13 years old blew a metal brake line, had to have it towed to a shop, the metal brake line was corroded out.All i am saying is my 1988 and 1997 chevrolet held up way better with ziebart that my last truck, I wish I would have saved photos I had of the 2001, rocker panels on both side were swiss cheese and above the rear wheel wells the rust holes were about 20 inches long and 3 inches tall. The frame had heavy rust scale and several holes the size of soft balls, when I tried to sell it myself I priced it very low but when people looked under at the frame and saw the rust scale they said no way, they could not even see the holes, they were above the fuel tank. Truck only had 138,000 miles and washed it 2 times a week in the winter. So you are saying ziebart is better than the other common options such as Fluidfilm, krown, and rustcheck.. or what?
Must be a new coating. Guess the got with the program and stopped using rubber.Ziebart is oil based I can post MSDS if you like.
Washed it 2 times a week?! Yeah, no.I do not know about Krown or Rust check have not seen these in the upper midwest. Towne Auto Group are certified shysters.UPDATE:
The dealer is Towne Auto Group in hamburg NY. Total scam artists. They advertise a full ziebart package and to my friends delight they just take a spray gun and lambast the entire bottom chassis as fast as possible to be able to say they apply the product and charge for it. They did not apply it thick like it should have been and they did not inject it into all the doors and crevices.
The vehicle was too good to pass up and it was certified pre owened for the price I could buy it at auction. The coating they applied is most likely not going to present any issue as we will be switching over to krown for the internal cavities, and woolwax for the bottom chassis. We will smother it right over the ziebart so if the ziebart cracks or shrinks, the lanolin will creep right in. With yearly reapplications while not ideal, should prevent any issues posed by the ziebart.
As much as i dislike ziebart, if you applied it youself to ensure it was done right, and on a brand new fresh vehicle, I beleive it would be better than doing nothing at all. On a used car, absolutly not.

ZIEBART INTERNATIONAL CORP SAFETY DATA SHEET (SDS) Revised 7/22/2015 SECTION 1: IDENTIFICATION Z302510Towne Auto Group are certified shysters.
I had to deal with them too many times. Every time I did wanted to go and get a prescription for penicillin.
Edit: if it's the rubber coating and itsna truck frame they may be using it to cover up major safety issues.
It says 30-60 Percent mineral spirits- I did not post full MSDS it is 8 pages long! That doesnt give any chemical makeup besides saying its 60% mineral spirits. So I am assuming its an oil type coating and not the old rubber suicide pact coating?
I mean, asphalt is also oil based, so is synthetic rubber. Here's an SDS for Rocker Guard:Ziebart is oil based I can post MSDS if you like.
Get it rust proofed with an oil based product. Krown or CarWell or NH Coatings or Noxudol 700. Forget Ziebart.View attachment 255824
Previous 2 vehicles in 1988 and 1997 chevrolet sold when they were 10 years old with ziebart the frames looked very good and so did the bodies! My 2001 chevy silverado thought I would try no rust proofing after 14 years in a rust belt state had to get rid of it because of severe frame rust. This is Not a photo of my truck but off a chevy Forum I go on, this is 10 year old truck frame that never had rust proofing! I am going to ziebart my next truck.
