I drive a F150 ,2010, its my only driver....mileage is 16 around town, maybe 19 on the road...it runs well, plenty of power when you kick it,,and,,,,and if I need to pull a camper or a boat or a heavy trailer it will do it..............unlike in years past our 4 bangers were limited to really a limited range of doing anything heavy , but they were good for grocery stores and such...the days of 389s and tri-power are gone,,,Im old, I know it.....did I say GTO, the real ones of the 60s...........................send me to 1966-70lol

You’re going to laugh, perhaps, but the V-8 in the Tundra sounds awesome when you floor it. It’s got a great mechanical growl and just the right exhaust note. It’s a truck engine, but it belongs in a muscle car.
Can remember it was a big deal when small blocks made 300+ HP and then the smog stuff even squashed that for years. Now soccer mom V8’s make 350-420 HP … and yeah, sound great when nailed …

Never drove a Tundra but that is exactly how I feel about the 5.6 V-8 in my Titan. Beautiful music to my ears.

I love my Mustang, even tho the transmission doesn't shift exactly when I want it to so sometimes it takes a second to get in the right RPM zone when I hit it.....the resulting sound is just pure American awesomeness.

My 1977 Oldsmobile, with a 350 cubic inch Olds V-8, Rochester Q-jet, single exhaust, was rated at 170HP. 275 ft lbs torque.

Yep. 170 HP in a two ton car.

Lots of things to like about the 70s, but engines were not one of them...
Bout all my 79 Dodge PowerWagon had … got a few more with bolt on stuff …
but 4Lo was a given in smushed earth …

The days of old covers a lot of ground, NASCAR in the early 50s may have had top speeds of 120, maybe.....,my time zone was 1960 to 1972 ,, GTO,442,Chevelles,Mustangs, it sort of went down hill after 72 imho...

Nowadays I don’t consider V8 real anymore. The old days yes. You should hear the V8 in our 1994 van that thing is loud and it’s had dual exhaust run by the previous owner who my dad bought it from in 1998 the thing is loud as heck. You won’t find anything like that these days.
