Im about to replace my tires on my 2004 Hyundai
Elantra GLS sedan. Im trying to decide between
the Yokohama AVID H4S or the Kumho Solus KH16.

Which would be the better all around tire to combine
a nice mix of ride comfort, quiet/smoothness and
good handling??
Also, which would truely have the better thread
wear over 60,000 miles?

I've been using Avid H4S's since feb, and have put 33,000mi on them. They have been wonderful. My only complaints is that they stink in the snow. After 33k, my tires are showing around 45% tread.

To answer your question and requirements, I'd say the Kuhmo more closely matches your needs. We have the KH16's on our Avalon and it has very good comfort, quiet, smooth and has good, but not great, handling.

Based upon the wear at this point, I doubt they'll do 60,000 miles. Maybe 40. The Yohohama has the higher treadwear, so they'll prob do better. But it's very hard to beat the Kuhmo's at that price.
