So I downloaded Yahoo! Messenger today & ever since when I "X" out of Explorer, it shuts slow & I get the Internet Explorer is not working pop-up.

Also, when I open up Explorer, Vista askes me if I want to use Yahoo! Messenger to open it up!!

What is going on...? Any way to fix it...?

Thanks...

I've had the yahoo toolbar from the beginning. No issues until this thing.

To each his/her own, but it's been my experience that toolbars-be it Yahoo, Google or anything else-are far more trouble than they are worth.

Agreed.

Ok, so, how do I get rid of the toolbar...??

Somehow, Google toolbar showed up also.

I did the uninstall of the toolbars - still closes slow, cannot close and tries to restart.

Gotta be that darn Messenger.....

Ugh.

I uninstalled Yahoo & Google toolbars AND uninstalled Yahoo Messenger - Explorer still has problems closing and if I close 1 window, it automatically closes ALL windows!!

It's Explorer 7 with Vista.

Should I uninstall Explorer & re-install it off the Web...??

I didn't know it was possible to uninstall IE7 from Vista. Are you certain it can be done? If you have a restore point that predates the install of the toolbars, I'd do that. If not and you have to have a working IE, you may need to format and reinstall. If you can live without IE, it may be time to consider Firefox or Opera.
