Filter was run for nearly a year an 8k miles on 2008 CRV. Looked good to me. Nice straight media (not an OG Ultra) Anti-drain back valve was soft and
pliable. Was replaced with Supertech MP7317 and Chevron SynBlend 5w-30.

Get us a picture of the baffle plate through fill port.
You mean the leaf spring in the end cap, or talking about the louvers in the center tube. Every thread has some new terminology going on ... what's a "baffle plate" and a "fill port" on an oil filter?

Sorry not clear before. The low flow baffle plate area through fill port in valve cover gasket.
Its got 161k on it. Relatively low. Sadly the filter has made its way to the bottom of the trashcan now and isn't coming back.. haha
Did you get the CRV new? do you know history of oil brand/version and OCI?

My daughters '08 is at 243k, my sister bought new and had mostly dealer or independent shop changes at MM intervals. We got it from her in July '20 with 208k. As of last bunch of changes the baffle plate and I presume other areas are slowly getting cleaned up with HPL EC30 and now 1 qt of HPL PCMO 5W-30 mixed with variety of full syn oils. It doesn't burn or leak any oil.

This is about 20k miles between them.

Aww. I've been maintaining it for the past 11 years and 100k. Been doing annual changes (7-10k) with either synthetic or syn-blend 5w-30 that whole time. Its got a golden hue under the valve cover but looking good. No doubt it would make it to 300k, but I doubt the wife is going to want to keep driving a car that's 20 years old.. haha

Good to hear all is well. Golden hue is no issue from all I know.

Off oil topic -Did you have the trailing arm recall done on it? How is underneath for rust?

Crazy that even at the years/mileage the money for it at least on AWD up here. My daughters lists trade in for about $2600 and private party about $5k if you find someone willing to pay that. A nice southern, non rusting, lower mileage could be more.

My daughter hopes nothing happens to hers, she loves it.

I haven't bothered to get the recall done as the vehicle has zero rust underneath.. It is eligible for it though (guess it was sold up north).
