Would you guys use a Motorcraft filter on a Subaru?

I actually did call the dealer today and asked if I could get a qty discount. Parts manager said he'd knock off a buck a filter if I bought 3 or more. That's not a doorbuster but I'll take it.
Not a bad deal ..stick w/OEM then! I do.

For most Subaru applications that's true, but the WRX filter is a different part number, still made in Japan by Tokyo Roki. I bought this one from a dealer:

I have nothing against this filter; I just like to have options.
Toyota sells a Thai Denso I’ve used - it’s for the FR-S. Same size and bypass/threads as the Roki AA170 Subaru filter. 90915-YZZS1 is the p/n.

I would stick with a Subaru filter. I would bet the specs are better than a Motorcraft.
