Would you buy a late 2020 (MY21) vehicle?

Unfortunately, our van, 2017 Pacifica, is starting to do some weird electrical things and electrical things scare the crap out of me in terms of expense potential. There are no codes, just things that pop up and happen that can't be explained and there's no way to make it recur until it wants to do it again.

My wife has been eyeing Wranglers for a couple years and a used one with her #1 wanted option, the power top, has been at our local Chrysler dealer for a couple months.

We haven't gone to see it yet, but if I understand the window sticker coding it looks like it was built November 2020.

I've seen there be a bit of an issue with Covid-era cars, so is November 2020 a Covid-era car? Or it's made it 50k miles and 3.5 years so it's probably ok as any acute problem would already be fixed?

I wouldn't pass on a vehicle just because it was built in 2020. My father owns a 2020 Grand Cherokee that has been very reliable with 70k miles now. I would look at it's maintenance history though to see if carfax shows frequent shop visits for weird problems and diagnostic checks.

Its worth investigating if you have critters causing the problem. Your van is still somewhat young to be experiencing issues. Other common issues are wires being pinched in the doors. If you are interested, describe the issues, they are solvable.

Dodges are known for fuse box (TIPM) issues, but i'm unsure if yours is affected.

it's been sitting for months though, so it's either very expensive or got issues. It won't be a steal.
It's pricey because it has a power top. IMO, there's a number of Jeep people that don't want to spend that. It's also only available on the more expensive trim packages. But that thought has run over my mind, why is it on the lot still.

Carfax doesn't look too bad. For some reason it failed PA emissions last year but that would've been fixed by warranty. I didn't like the looks of the brakes in the pictures, but records say they've replaced the brakes, so the pictures were probably taken before that.
