10w40,in a Z28,LS1,30K on engine,mild climate,Thanks p.s. I know 10w30 is called for,I have a friend that has the 15w40,that i can get now.

that should read 15W40.

The 15w40 should work fine in the summer, but I don't know if I'd run it in the cooler months. The LS1s really like 10w30, you'll lose a couple of ponies and a bit of MPG with the thicker oil.
