Thats the 2005 list which I heard on the radio in the car not 15 mins after I posted the 2004 list. Listed to Thomas Keller from French Laundry who was going for three in a row saying he wasn't unhappy to lose to Molecular Gastronomist Heston Blumenthals Fat Duck in England. In American magazine Gourmet March edition Editor in Chief Ruth Reichl said of Heston that eating at the Fat Duck is unadulterated pleasure. This food is presented without a hint of bravado. You never get the sense that the chef is out in the kitchen saying, "See what I can do!" Instead you imagine him out there wondering how he can make this experience wonderful for you, dreaming up new ways to delight his customers. I have not found another restaurant, anywhere that is this much fun. A worthy winner indeed! Good to see our Tetsuya's up to 4th.

sprintman, on the radio this afternoon (had to take the inlaws to Sydney for a trip to the oncologist), they were talking about this.

A guy rang in about tetsuya's saying that it was a memorable experience...$300/head, (for a 12 course gastronosomething) but they attended to everything, having had wines manufactured specifically for each and every food offering.

Apparenty that fat duck place has people waiting months in advance for reservations.

(Gordon Ramsay is a prat)

Gourmet Magazine editor Ruth Reichl says in the March edition that eating at the guru of Molecular Gastronomy Heston Blumenthals Fat Duck is unadulterated pleasure. "I have not found another restaurant, anywhere, that is this much fun." She finishes by saying "at this moment London is the world's best place to eat". Tetsuya's up to 4th behind El Bulli and French Laundry is a great result. And Gordon Ramsay is the man!!

Has anyone seen the menu at the Fat Duck? Snail porridge a speciality: "But for £97.50, guests can enjoy snail porridge, sardine on toast sorbet and smoked bacon and egg ice-cream"

Its a menu for the intrepid!
