WIX WL10290 C&P, 5k miles

The filter on the cutter today is a WIX WL10290 off a 2017 Chevrolet Spark. The engine is only a 1.4L NA engine, but has a huge filter for the size. I believe they run the same filter on corvettes.

This filter was in service for 5k miles. It looks pretty good, other than the leaf spring. The leaf spring has some nice little waves. I was looking through the media, hence the waves near the metal crimp.

Looks ok. That sloppy glue or whatever string in 4th pic is no go for me.

What went in and on?

Yeah, I don’t know what that is. I may just be from the old shop rag I was using.

In went Castrol Edge EP 0w20 and on went another WIX WL10290. I have about 5 more WIX filters to go in my stash for this vehicle before moving to PG filters.

That doesn't matter in this filter because the bypass valve is built into the end cap and not the leaf spring. There's no "seal" between the leaf spring and end cap.
