I felt a bit guilty laughing at this poor things' unfortunate encounter with that ice, but my wife (who has much higher standards of decorum than me) laughed pretty hard too. We both said that we appreciated her tenacity, and hope she was 100% o.k.
I lived this once. I took the dog out for a walk, it was raining...within 25 minutes it turned to freezing rain and heavy! I had to crawl up my street by walking along the foundation walls of each house on the block, this was the only area that had traction. The reaction from some of my neighbors as I was clawing my way with the dog along the face of their houses was...well...priceless. And no, the dog's 4 paw drive was also useless.
Walking on those cobblestones in the road may have been a better choice. That happens up here once and a while with freezing rain. It can be quite nerve racking.
