Will Seal Conditioners Harm Low MI Engine Seals ?

Like the "brew" in Valvoline full synthetic maxlife.

Of course "they" say can be used in new or low mi engines as well. They do not clarify what seal conditioners they use in the mix.

Anyone ever seen conventional seal conditioners harm seals in a low mi vehicle or even a high mi vehicle for that matter.

Usually esters for seal conditioning..

never a problem here with Mobil's HM line...

Some think these conditioners swell seals, thus destroying them. FWIW, thats not true.

I think you can use it in a new car as well. Think of it as a heavier Oil. Maxlife is heavier than other Oils.

And for the cars it is made for.. thats good. 10W-40 and 20W-50 are popular amongst older cars for it.

I am not a fan of softening nor swelling seals that are not currently leaking.

I can't say definitively, but I've never heard of anyone using a High Mileage oil in a low mileage vehicle, and then developing a leak that they suspected the oil of causing

I've been running Valvoline Maxlife Full Synthetic 10w30 in my fathers 2.4 DI ecotec since it's 2nd change.

Every oil has seal swell and conditioning agents.

The High Mileage oils generally exhibit slightly higher viscosities, a bit more detergent, a bit more AW additive (usually ZDDP) and a slightly higher dose of seal swell agents, and a bit more dispersant which can also affect seal conditioning.
