Will changing oil help my oil consumption (BMW)?

Try some Schaeffers Moly 132 additive with your current oil to slow consumption and add other benefits. This has helped consumption in several customers' engines that were otherwise perfect. Or just get some Schaeffers series 9000, either 5W-40 or 5W-50 for year-round use. All 3 products are excellent. Contact bitog Schaeffer rep for info. Here's some reading.

Boy, I guess we got lucky with our '04 530i with the M54B30 engine. We bought it with 34k miles and now has 53k. Been using GC since we bought it and it doesn't use any oil between 7k oil changes. I'm kind of surprised, too. The original owner was a retired school teach who didn't drive it enough to keep the battery charged up, averaging about 8-9k miles annually. I noticed that BMW did allow them to have early oil changes because they drove the car so few miles. Sure is a fun car to drive, although my wife threatens to never let me drive again when I go through an S curve at 80 mph. That sport package sure makes it stick to the road.

Same here. No drag car my 325 but proper headers, CAI, and sw woke it up. Through the twisties it scares the sh1te out of me let alone passengers! Just needs an LSD.
