Wikipedia and bots

The wiki page on Amsoil has a problem with the links - a specific dealer is using them for advertising (FORBIDDEN). He has his ZO number as part of the link that would give this dealer credit for any sales for folks who click on the links. I edited it to the generic www.amsoil.com, yet he is running a bot to control the links. Is there anything to stop a bot? How does this work? I reported the wiki to wikipedia. Otherwise the page seems to be OK after I edited it for some factual errors.

There is no bot involved. It is simply somebody going in and changing the links manually as they please. This type of thing has been going back and forth for quite a while now.

Actually I received a bot warning the first time I changed it and then it changed back. I notice now it is holding to my changes.
