Wife jumps into a Stream.

I've always been a big fan of the Toyota Wish, which looks like the competitor to this car. I agree that this body style is about as practical as it gets. It's pretty much the standard taxi vehicle in Taiwan.

Nice looking car!

The Wish is very popular here, but is Toyota priced. Others we looked at were the Toyota Fielder, a Corolla station wagon, and the Nissan Wingroad. The station wagons are better suited to her purpose, but the MPV can be made to work.

I bet you could find out the radio manufacturer and have it re-flashed with a local New Zealand map instead of Japan.

And a band expander etc. She needs a USB plug, and far better to do a new pug and play. I took the radio out of her old car and it plugged straight into my Volvo - having universal adapter plugs these days is great. I counted 6 radios in my shed, all good ones, and all have different plugs.
