Why would fresh oil stop leak for 200-300 miles?

Whenever I put in a fresh dose of high mileage oil, I have my dime size leak completely stop for 200-300 miles.

Then it comes back the same.

For a long time, I thought this was the oil breaking down, becoming thinner. However, I don't really think that is the case anymore because I have tried much thicker weights and the leak actually got worse.

Therefore, what changes in the oil after 200-300 miles to make it startup again?

I think I will be wild next time and try a thinner oil to experiment, see if that makes it worse or better.

Why does it only swell them for a couple hundred miles though and then stop?

It's from the front of the engine. Not crankshaft seal because I replaced that. It is either this silicone gasket that holds on breather separator (I think not likely because the different oils do change how much it leaks). Or, a gasket on the timing chain cover from what I have been told (common leaks on front of engine for KA24DE).

I just always find it interesting that immediately helps so much, fresh oil, and then returns to the exact same little drop. I guess one of those mysteries.
