We have hooked up two different new DVD's (a JVC and a Magnavox) to our TV. For each DVD we read and followed the instruction manual. We are sure that we hooked each up correctly. We went through the "set up" instructions for each DVD. We could not get either DVD to display in color. It only shows up in black and white. The TV is a Toshiba purchased new in 1998. We have a VCR that displays just fine in color on the TV. We hooked each DVD up to the same Video In and Audio In holes on the TV as the VCR was connected to. We tried two different new DVD movie discs. We also tried using the VCR cables instead of the cables that came with the JVC DVD, in case there was something wrong with the JVC cables. We still got no color. We consulted two sons and a good friend who are knowledgable in such things and called the JVC help line. They all said we did all the right things. We tried both the JVC and the Magnavox on the TV of one of our sons and both displayed in color. We are at our wits end! Anyone got any ideas?
