I read over what information I could find about titanium as an oil additive. I sounds like it would be a solid addition to just about any engine oil. Why are there so few oils that use it as an additive? Is there something we are unaware of when it come to its use? Is Castrol titanium the same as Kendall's? Thoughts, opinions and information are. appreciated.

As a oil guru what are your thoughts on titanium as an additive? Effectiveness?

Titanium is just another friction modifier. About as effective as MoDTC or soluble moly.

The additive packages that contain either one are about the same cost.

Interesting that they have a similar cost. I assumed it was more rare due to a greater cost difference. Now I'm just scratching my head as to why more major players don't use it with or instead of moly. The VOA I saw of Kendall GT1 contains both titanium and moly.

They have had an agreement to use Kendall oils many years before Kendall used titanium additives, that is why you see the stuff.
