The DIY market for 0w-16 is still relatively small and thus the market for a high mileage version would be vastly smaller. Alternatively maybe the high mileage version is a 0w-20?

You can buy a seal conditioner supplement oil additive / fortifier. One brand name is Forte. I've seen it at Amazon.
I've used 0w20 Supertech high mileage in my kids Corolla (Corollaman Jr.) Haven't seen 0w16 high mileage around here. Of course I've used 5w30 high mileage in that car too.

Just surprising to me no MAJOR has not offered a 0W16 HM yet.
Is there anything in the ILSAC GF6b spec that might prevent it? Maybe the high mileage type additives cause LSPI or something?
@MolaKule has posted several times that there’s no detriment to using a HM additive package in a brand-new engine. Maybe they just decided to use them from new?
45 different product lines of a given weight is pretty wasteful and leads to consumer confusion. Most people just want simplicity: give them one option that fits their needs (in a given price tier). Any more than 2 choices (good/best) can cause people to buy another brand out of frustration.

I’ll go with the easy one.The use of 0w-16 is a more recent phenomenon and the amount of vehicles on the road both using it and fitting into the high mileage category is too small a market to target at the moment. Expect it to grow as the oil becomes more widely used.
Is it really going to matter if your 7.9 cSt @ 100C oil is 2.60 HTHS or 2.59 HTHS?
