Why is Pennzoil's 5W-20 such a dark color out of the bottle?

Most oils are a very light gold color when you pour them from the bottle, but not Pennzoil's 5W-20. I know it's a a very good oil, I'm just curious if anyone knows why it's so dark.

bottgers, I think it's the additive package. Both Chevron and Pennzoil have gotten darker in recent years.

Pennzoil oils with stronger/different add packs are darker. Take a look at their High Mileage Vehicle oils.

We know the 5W20 oils have VERY strong additive packages in comparison to other weights in the same brand. So, I'd chalk it all up to the additives.
