Why Does Private Email Keep Popping Up?

When I see an email address on a webpage and click on it to send a message to that email, Private Email login page shows up automatically.

How can I stop this? I was setting up email on my website and I wonder if I made a boo-boo?

When you click on an email address it then opens your email program so you can reply
in some cases this is a website.

But I don't use Private Email? I use Apple Mail and gmail.

This is a setting in your browser. In Firefox go to settings, general, Applications, and look for mailto.

Web browsers can't send email directly. When you click on a "mailto://" link on a page, the browser opens your preferred email program that you have set in the browser.

What do you mean by "Private Email?" A screenshot (Command-Shift-3) would help.

On Mac OS, the default email client (and browser) is set by going through Mail.app's preferences.

Stupid way to do it, but there's no shortage of such UI designs in the computer world.

My default email reader was Brave (my Browser). I switched it back to Apple Mail and all is well. Somehow this email is linked to by
Brave Browser. Thanks Carmudgeon!!!!
