Who makes the Napa Gold 1393

This is for a 2001 VW. The reason I ask. All the Napa Golds are painted black, but the 1393 still is white like the older Golds were. From these pics, does it look like a Wix filter?

With that spring inside it looks like a Wix to me. Napa changed the color, but this one might just be a few years old.

No worries - it is a Wix Filter. The Napa Gold filters on my '88 Jeep Cherokee (Napa 1626) are always white like the one you are showing, even with newer date codes on them. At least they now come in the newer Napa Gold box - for a while they were still in the older labeling. The Napa Gold filters for my F150 (1327) and Explorer (1515) are always Black.

Looks like the old style they used to have...A friend of mine ordered a couple tractor filters recently (Fleet Filters) and they looked like that.

My Lincolns Napa Gold is allways white as well.
