Yeah, that looks like a stout filter. Does any national retailer stock Pennzoil filters? I've never actually SEEN one before.

Back when they were made by Fram the Pep Boys on Skibo used to carry them. It's been a good ten years since I've seen one.

Some of the Jiffy Lubes use them.

I have a Pennzoil PZ-34 oil filter installed on my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 I6. Does this PZ-34 filter have cardboard end caps like the cheap Frams have?

Bought one at Hills once. They went out of business 10 years ago. Served them right for selling yellow cans of doom.

The current PZ appears to be made by Purolator. They were Fram at one time.

You can tell by the thread being stamped into the base plate.

Yours should have a 3 hole 4 hole 16 hole (etc) or 3/4-16 on the base.

Not saying that there isn't one somewhere, but I have never seen a Purolator or Purolator made filter eg. Motorcraft, AAP Total Grip, Powerflo, that has cardboard endcaps. I expect the Pennzoil filter (in pic) has metal endcaps, as said it looks to be made by Purolator.
