I just bought a used 2002 Chevy S10 with 25000 miles on it. The oil had been changed every 3000 miles with a Dino oil[Pennzoil]. I will drive it to work every day[42 miles] round trip . Should I stay with the dino oil[I change oil myself] or switch to Mobile 1? I will keep this truck for many years as I am retiring in two more years so this vehicle should last me for the next eight years. Truck engine is a four cylinder five speed.

I had a 1996 S-10, 4 cyl. with the 5 speed and I also used Pennzoil 10W-30 and changed every 3,000 miles. The GM 2.2 OHV engine is a good one and will last a long time.
With that type driving you might could get the M1 synthetic to go six months on an interval .

Is it a 4 or 6 cylinder? If its a 6, they like a heavier oil. GC, Syntec 10W-40 or Rotella T 5W-40 would all work well and allow you to extend your drains.
