Which is best Motul 7100 10w40 or Shell Advance Ultra 10w40?

That said, 7100 4T 10W-40 has the expensive API Group V polyol ester (POE) in it, which makes it a more premium oil, but that doesn't necessarily have to translate into a better performance, as a balanced additive package and an optimal viscosity-index improver (VII) also matters. The Motul probably has less VII in it because it has a lower viscosity index (VI), which is another plus for it.
