Which dino for Yamaha F150?

I want to switch to a synthetic oil in my Yamaha F150,but most people advise waiting till 100 hours.

Right now I have 12 hours on it so I have a ways to go. I do need to change out the factory fill between now and 20 hours so I'll need a good dino.

The standard Yamaha OCI is 100 hours or 6 months. I can use any 10w30/10w-40 oil that meets SE,SF,SG,SH,SJ,SL specs.

Alot of my trips will be runs of an hour or more. Is there a dino that'll easily take 4200 RPMs for a couple hours at a time?

I'd stay with the yamalube 4M FC-W, it's semi-syn even though they don't label it as such. I doubt you'll find many otc car oils, even full syn. that compare on the additive level either. Citgo does a good job with yamaha's products IMO. I'd think about changing the factory fill out before the 100hrs though? maybe cut it in 1/2? 100hrs is a lot of run time on a new motor.

Why not go to a synthetic now? If you broke the engine in according to instructions the rings are seated and you are ready to go. No need to wait.

If the instructions in the owner's manual haven't changed the first oil change is recommended at 10 hours. Every 100 hours or six months after that.

I own a 2003 F-115 Yamaha, running Mobil 1 10w30.

Stick with YamaLube and cut the oil changes
back to 50 hrs. 100 hrs is tooooo long

Yeah, 100 is too long...or it sure seems that way.
