I have a 2009 Pontiac G8 with Cam, milled and ported heads, headers, stall converter, gears, high flow cats, etc. I've been using Amsoil 5w30 Signature Series in it, but wondering which Amsoil oil would be best suited for protection and extended drain intervals?

I'd go with the HDD 5w30 or RD 5w30. I think I'd want a bit more ZDP in this case.

I once thought this way, and was huge on ZDDP content. However, recent UOA trends are showing me something different in my 2009 GT500.

Amsoil AMO 10W-40 with higher levels of ZDDP resulted in no better wear metal ppm than Amsoil ATM 10w30 with API SN levels of ZDDP. However, Signature Series does has one tough additive pack supplemented with Moly.

I would keep up with what you are using now personally.

I do race it at the drag strip 6-10 times a year. For the most part I drive like an old guy since I'm in Washington, DC rush hour traffic 5 days a week and I don't particularly like to put those around me in danger by driving like an idiot. I do get frisky with the throttle on occasions though

As previously mentioned I do have high flow cats. With that in mind which would be the best choice? HDD 5-30, RD 5-30 or 10-40?

Thank you Pablo! I will order it tomorrow. Luckily it's only 1 day ship time from Richmond. Think 10k will be a good interval?

8-10K should be fine.

Traffic. Stick with the HDD.

I just put the Z-rod in, so if I am in traffic (which I am in some) I should have put in HDD or ASL?

I'm in Minnesota, colder for sure, but not as much dead stop traffic.
