when to replace timing chain

I know there isn't a maintenance Interval for them but how long do they generally last. I know my old Ford. 302 the timing cover broke and I did the timing chain since I was in there already. It had 170,000 and had alot of slack my Chevy has 208,000 so maybe it needs done soon? Or maybe it will be fine forever? What do you guys think

Depends on how much maintenance the engine gets. Chains can fail along with everything else in a dirty engine.

If the chain isn't rattling, it's probably fine to continue to run it. Not that it hurts to replace it anyway.
