I have a 2008 pontiac VIBE with a 1.8 L engine. car has 32,500 miles on it. When would everyone suggest changing and refilling the coolant. it has the toyota pink original factory fill in it still.

manual says 150,000 miles. I don't think that is correct.it would take me 15 years to get to that mileage

I have the same engine in my 2005 Corolla. I went a little past the 150,000 mile mark and changed it.

With your driving miles vs time I'd suggest 4-5 years.

Take care, bill

yeah still too early.. I wouldnt worry about it for another couple of years!! I did a drain and fill on my wife's Highlander at just under 100k. BTW I used Zerex Asian 50/50 and no issues to report.. other than me needing to change the water pump, as its starting to weep.

My pink has been in my Celica for 9 years now without change. Had no problems with water pump or cooling-might change it next year if i still have the car.

I think the pontiac uses GM Dex-cool which is listed in the manual...also the manual has the recommended change and flush as 150000 miles or every 5 years.
