What is need?
There will be no harm in using a HM oil now.
And very likely benefits.

Slightly thicker is the right direction for older engines.
More additives are good.
Seal conditioners can help prevent or cure those type of leaks.

Will not hurt to try Mobil 1 HM oil at whatever mileage... Like I have said, I think it is a great oil for the price. If you want to try it before any leaks, go for it. It may help prevent any minor leaks down the road. It has a very good add pack and you should be good to go 7500 miles.

These companies make have you coming and going with this HM advertising.
First they say if you you use this super duper stuff it keeps your engine like new, factory clean and keeps the seals in good condition.
Then at 75K you should change over to HM? IMO this advise is totally contradictory.
If its not using or leaking IMO there is zero point in using HM.

The only possible reason I would use a HM oil now, is maybe, just maybe, the extra seal conditionaers will prevent leaks further down the road. But it's just a theory...
