when being green isn’t

Don't believe in going green at the extreme cost of something else. I am concerned for today, not a 100 years from now.
Me too! Then having a going green agenda and killing people with high energy costs when we have all the oil we need right here in the good ole' US of A. Cut off the flow of domestic oil, become dependent on our enemies for higher priced oil while we wait to get the grid in place to go green, which can take 20+ or more years to do so. SMH. Want to see inflation tamed? Let the oil flow the way it was a few short years ago, prices on food and goods will come down, quickly. Rant off.

The problem with this whole "green" thing, is the people who are pushing it are doing so for political reasons. Not for the, "common good of man". It's all about control, not clean.

And most are idiots, and don't have a clue of what they're talking about. Saying things like, "If we don't pass the "Green New Deal", we'll all be dead in 10 years", just proves their complete lunacy and stupidity.

Green isn't about green, it is about control. Do your own research and listen to those who started the green movement and now balk at the turn politicians have taken it. IMHO an excellent example of this is the former Greenpeace starter. That man's intentions were truly wholesome so his modern-day words are relevant to me.

I don't want to say too much and get into an issue with the mods so I will keep it at do your research with a few examples. A review of statements from the UN since the 70's will show you they have been drilling down on we have a decade before the world is overdue to climate change. And if you take a look at AOC's Green New Deal and contrast it with what the UN formerly put out, it's the same plan with a new title. And little to do with climate.

I'm a-ok with EV but in many instances, the math does not add up. When Gov't has to force-feed us EV by purposely stymying fossil fuel at every step, something is not copacetic. We are nowhere near the required infrastructure for reasonable EV usage on large scale in the US. Call me selfish but time in life is something you cannot get back. I'm not ok with multiple hours to recharge. And just how green am I in an EV when the electricity used to charge my EV is from fossil fuel? Might need a shower to feel better after a charge?

I also go backward in history and think of the Canadian billionaire who bought influence from the Clinton Foundation and bought up many mines in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, etc... and the location of many of the materials required for EV. That is just a single of many suspicious connections going back to Gore and his massive green energy push while he invested personally and heavily into profiting off it.

Yep. IMO letting the oil flow like it was not so long ago will tame inflation a lot faster than hiking interest rates, and intentionally destroying wealth in doing so.

There are over 9000 (really, not a meme) untapped leases right here in the USA.

Oil company logistics are the sole reason this stuff isn't going to market.

Maybe they can't get laborers. Or equipment.

Or maybe they just prefer the status quo.

But the red tape is out of the way.

Last time I checked, a month ago, the US "exported" more oil than it "imported". The US owns zero oil production. The big oil companies own them. They control them. Stock market controls the price of oil. Yes the President can lobby the OPEC nations to open or close the oil taps, but if they say no, it's no. Global market and the US is caught up in it. Seems everybody forgot about the pandemic causing LESS driving. LESS driving caused LESS gasoline usage = LESS price. Fix the Ukraine's being murdered by Putin and this price thing will fix itself.

When the sale of new leases is denied year after year, the red tape is both firmly in the way, and deliberately so.

Prior to 2020 there were over 30k available leases and a clear environmental path to the necessary permits to drill. Not anymore.

What entity would make that investment when an administration stated clearly and loudly their goal was to abolish your industry? And has the power to do it.

How can the Ukraine problem be fixed?

You just quoted someone without a source. Who said that? Show us.

As for drilling for oil, the number of approved “Applications for Permit to Drill” (APDs) on Federal/BLM land was the HIGHEST in FY2021 than any year since 2008.

Go to Table 7
https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/docs/2022-03/Oil and Gas Statistics_FY2021.zip

The notion that new drilling has been stopped is complete BS
Part of the problem is drillers are afraid of getting burned like the last time the middle east dumped oil on the market and made their high expense wells unprofitable to use.

My community has a recycling program. If a resident is to participate, they are told to completely was out a ketchup bottle or a jar, can of whatever berfore throwing out.. To do so, water is used, paid for by that resident and wasted. I don't get it.
