Wheel alignment - after new tire purchase?

Thank you all for the responses. It was most helpful. I have decided to wait and see and postpone the alignment. Since the van is tracking straight now, I plan to just keep a close eye on the treadwear, rotate at 7500 mile intervals and go from there. It is just 7000 miles since the new tires were installed, so first rotation should be coming up soon.

If that means it was not tracking straight earlier, then that is an indication that something was wrong, and since changing tires changed things, it might still be wrong, and the tires are offsetting - in other words, there are 2 things wrong, but in opposite directions.

Edit: Your first post indicated the previous set of tires caused a pull, because of a defect. My experience says that defects don't cause pulls (at least in the normal sense of the word.)

So what "defect" was it?
