Mine is about 1 per 600 sq ft, which is more than needed.

Take the size of your home/apartment/shanty, and divide by the number of people living there.

480sq ft ... with 8' ceilings.

700 sq ft in a single story house, no stairs to climb. Ceiling is 8' in bedrooms and dinning room, 14'-15' in family and living rooms.

Mine is 1 per 1500 sq ft of two storey town house, upstairs not heated, downstairs heated by two natural gas space heater, central heat (unreliable) used as a back up, and not used otherwise. I am comfortable, it is single digit now in TN, I start shaking if I go to the garage to pick up kitchen stuff.

240 square feet per person, not counting wall volume on interior walls.

10 foot ceilings, 9610cubic feet total.

Found out my house is 31x31...I knew it was squarish, not that it was actually square.

3200 sq ft house in Ontario would cost you a bundle to keep it warm in winter. It costs me about $30-40 a month to keep my 2850 sq ft home warm for 3-4 months from Dec through Mar.
