What’s this grey/silver swirl in my oil?

My never came with a dipstick. German engineering 🤦🏽‍♂️
My bad. I've been driving since the mid 70's and always owned a vehicle from the "Big Three." So in your case I'd pull the filter and get a sample from that, if need be replace the filter. I'd rather not start a war on removing and re-using a filter. I've done it a few times w/o issue checking for leaks after reinstalling the filter. Either way good luck!

Lmao I figured it out bro. It’s the threads from the oil filter housing. Everytime you thread the cap on, it flakes a little of the oil filter housing thread which mixes into the oil. The oil filter housing is made of aluminum and the Oil filter cap is made out of plastic.
Uh, NO. Not possible.

He means the plastic cap isn't going to gall and abrade the aluminum housing.

My old BMW has a similar housing and cap, and after 26+ years and over a quarter million miles I'll just say I'm not seeing the housing nor the cap grind off.
I'll get a UOA soon. I'll post the results here
