What's the lowest outside temp you've grilled at?

It's relatively warm today at 32F. I think I'm going to throw some sausages on the grill after work.

IIRC, I grilled when it was in the 20s before. What's the coldest you've grilled at? Gas or charcoal?

In college I rented a house with a grill meister. There was 2 1/2 feet of snow on the ground in Rochester; not a problem, the sidewalk was shovelled and clear. I remember fondly the image of him in a snorkel jacket with a pair of b-b-q tongs next to the Weber; I'm thinking mid 20's on that day. I wasn't in a position to argue briquets or gas, because I was mooching a meal.

Not near as cold as the other answers, but a good story anyway:

About 32 °F and snowing, I put a turkey in my gas grill one Thanksgiving using Chef Marc's high heat method. I put one burner on full tilt, left the other one turned off, and forgot about it. I figured "how hot could it really get considering the ambient temperature?" Wrong. When I checked it some time later I found smoke billowing out and the temp. gauge pegged. What little uncharcoalized turkey remained was really tasty though.

I do beer can chicken on the propane grill regularly through the ND winters with temps in the single digits. Takes an extra 1/8 turn of the burner knob though to get my 250F on the temp gauge

-25F easy when it starts to get around 0F and below the Weber really stars to eat charcoal to stay hot.

I have no problems grilling or smoking at sub zero temperatures. I'm sure I've grilled at zero or below, and a number of times I've smoked at -10 or -20.

My grill is propane and my smoker is electric.

Late 90s, about -5C, snowing, and over charcoal.

Husky Samoyed cross broke her leg in the middle of the festivities.

10-15'F. I've brought the propane bottle inside ahead of time sometimes to "perk it up".

My grill thermometer measures in 20'F increments, and there's an unmarked space below 100'F so it still accurately measures the chill of winter. Needle points at about 6 o'clock when it's darn cold.

20F or so is usually where I stop. At that point you have to use a bunch of gas and the foods take longer to cook. With all three burners wide open I'm sure I could go well below 0F, but what's the point?

About 28-30f, and a light snow. As a native floridian it was an experience way up here. It really wasn't that bad if you stay fairly close to the grill.
