What's the last thing you decided to buy for yourself?

A thrift store Linksys EA7500 router that I installed OpenWRT on and configured as a WiFi relay for my little shop building. So far it's working great.

My old NanoStation or maybe it's POE injector died a while back and then the powerline networking setup I replaced it with quit working. This OpenWRT solution is working better than anything else so far. Fixed for the price of a quart of Mobil 1.

Fancy steaks at the local Walmart Marketplace…

I was impressed..Obviously Grade A Prime beef here. Only 2 percent of beef is graded Prime.

These were very, very good.

Though I have had Grade A top choice steaks that were as good as this.

Last weekend I saw an old buddy who's getting olde that was a mentor of mine, a fantastic engineer who became a big brother figure to me.
He has fantastic collections of art pieces and collections of watches and in discussing a few new items he added In discussing some new pieces he had I struck a bargain to relive him of a few of the old.

I've always been fond of these two items.

A Titanium Omas T2 ball point pen.

A Titanium Maurice Lacroix Pontos Decentrique complete with original box and paperwork.
Although the hinge on the box is broken, it's extremely fragile for the weight it carries and not well designed.
They spent too much money on the size of the box and not enough on the hinge, but I must say the package makes you feel like you got value.
This watch has a very unique face with a series of offset details and an uber slick unique secondary timezone.

Low grade 1948 Bowman Warren Spahn!

View attachment 256345
Ha, i met him once when I was working at a sports collectibles show. My FIL had a ball that Warren had pitched and it got fouled off. Got it signed and he said, i dont think I pitched this ball, i always scuffed them just a little right here (pointed to a spot near the stitching) i was like well I was not born when you threw or didnt throw this ball....he did not seem amused. 🤣

The last thing I bought and reluctantly so, was a tool that puts our socks on our feet, without us grunting, groaning, sweating and hurting ourselves, because of things like hip and knee replacements.

I feel much older just saying all this. Now where did I last see my bottle of Tylenol and that magazine which features shoes that need no laces and no shoehorn.......
