So I'm in the market for a new phone. What kind of phones do yall have and how do you like it? I have sprint service and am looking for an android phone. Which would you get or have and why? Thanks guys

Best? Each phone has its strengths and weaknesses. You've gotta give us more to go on...what are your priorities for a phone? What's a must-have? The Galaxy S2 devices seem to be very popular and versatile for just about everyone, and they're on every network except Verizon. The Droid Razr is the other hot phone right now and it's a Verizon exclusive.

I have had an EVO 4G for about a year now and like it. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is a very nice phone also. One advantage is that my EVO has a ton of aftermarket support such as the extended battery that I run, cases etc. These large screen smart phones are known battery hogs compared to the older flip phones or Blackberrys.

Droid X. You can have it - it's a steaming pile of, well, you know. I tried the Android Experiment and I can't wait to get back to an iPhone. 1. Reboots whenever it feels like it. This has been since Gingerbread and it will just up and reboot whenever. Listening to an MP3, typing an e-mail, etc. 2. Poor e-mail client. The stock one from Motorola sucks. Will not delete an IMAP e-mail from the server. 3. No upgradability. Doubtful the DX will see Ice Cream Sandwich. My previous iPhone 3G is still being used by a co-worker and supports iOS 4. 4. Android allows great customizability but the apps seem to be low rent. There's no easy way to do lots of things that you could do on the iPhone. For example, I hate drag and drop to manage my music. Would rather plug it in and know everything syncs. There's no way to backup/restore (without root), etc. 5. The Gallery will delete pictures and videos at random or not record them after you take them. 6. 3G Hotspot never worked reliably, even after 2 phones. 7. Vibrating motor died about 3 months ago (out of warranty). 8. 9 out of 10 times when I try to call from my car (Ford Sync) the first time the phone will wake up but never make the call. Have to redial to get it to call. I'm done with Android. iOS may not have the customizability but it's rock solid and easy to use. Probably not what you wanted to hear but it's my honest opinion and most of the issues with the DX persist to the DX 2, Bionic, and RAZR.

itguy08, my OG Droid (aka Droid 1, the original from over 2 years ago) has been rock-solid since I got it. Built like a tank, no bloatware, no spontaneous reboots or locking up...even when overclocked. I know two people with Droid Xs and they both love the phone and don't have the problems you describe.

Hey itguy08, He did not ask you if the android was better than the iphone. All he wants to know is which android is the best. Just because you (and me) would rather have an iphone is no reason to tell him everything that is wrong with your android. I have friends who swear by (not at) androids, and tell me how much better they are vice the iphone. If he wants an android, let him have one, and support his decision. JMHO

I had an iPhone and the customer service sucked and the apps were expensive. I Currently have an EVO that after 4 months won't charge the port broke the store said they were going to give me a nexus s2 but there is not such thing. I Think he meant the galaxy nexus or the nexus s. He let me look at one in a package and it was the galaxy nexus but he called it the nexus s 2 and when I called later on after I figured out that nexus s2 wasn't correct another guy said it was probably the nexus s.

My goal was to let him know what he is getting into. It's not all roses and green fields on the Android side. Nor is it that way on the iPhone side. I'm just saying the cons of the Android side of things. There are cons on the iPhone side. If you all would like I'll detail them. I'm not the only one with these issues on the Droid X. The gallery deleting pics is well documented at Motorola's support forum. As is the fact that the 3G hotspot sucks and is not reliable. A friend has the Droid 2 and she has the same issues. And she came from a Blackberry. IMHO it's all because of Gingerbread. The phone didn't suck until it came out. And the gist from the Android scene is that Motorola, Verizon, and Google have washed their hands of the Droid X and the issues. When Apple did iOS 3 on my 3G it sucked donkey you know what. I wanted to throw the phone out the window and that's what led to the Droid X. The only difference is Apple fixed those issues a little while later and as I said before my coworker is using that phone today. If someone would have told me of the issues I was getting myself into back in July 2010 I would have thought long and hard about the decision to get a Droid X or any Android device. I've generally had excellent customer service from Apple. Apps are about the same cost for both platforms. There are plenty of free and expensive apps. Case in point - MailDroid - an e-mail client. The paid version is $17.99. That's a lot for an e-mail app.

I am still beyond happy with my HTC Incredible (first release). The Android OS and apps only seem to get better on what is essentially two year old+ technology. I would look at HTC again however plan on keeping this one till it dies or is dropped.

I have the Samsung Galaxy SII on Sprint, and love it! I got it a few months ago and I don't have one complaint about it. The screen is beautiful and responsive, it has been 100% stable, and since it is so thin it fits in my pocket nicely - with the added benefit of a nice large screen. I use it pretty much all day long, and typically have 25-30% battery life left before bed. I highly recommend.

Check out the Skyrocket on AT&T. It's the Galaxy S2 LTE, and is the only one sold in the US. Basically gives you the big 4.5" screen of the Sprint GS2 and adds LTE. Also has an aluminum body instead of plastic. Very nice.

The common denominator of your Android experience seems to be Motorola. And I share your frustration with it. I had a D2, and then had a second D2 when the first one got warrantied out. I never was all that happy with it. My wife has a D2, which she can't wait to get rid of. I have to do a factory reset on hers every month or so because it stops responding to key inputs. I personally think Motorola makes the worst flavor of Android out there, and the Motorola skin/UI is awfully buggy in my experience.

I moved from Motorola to HTC and the experience is almost 180 degrees different. The phone never crashes; it works perfect all the time. It's fast, it's reliable, it's stable, and still offers the huge customization/open source experience of the Android operating system.

It is nice, but I didnt find it as nice as the iphone 4. The look and quality/resolutiuon of the screen, perhaps because of how the text and apps display, just didnt look good. The dimensions are also too big, IMO. If they had a 3.5" version with the same thickness and a little better look to the screen, I'd likely own one. The Android on the galaxy s2 looks and works great on the galaxy tablet 10.1, but the utilization of the way things display and show on a phone IMO is a wast of space. Perhaps it is customizable and was set up lousy at the AT&T store, but Id imagine that they do heir best to extoll all the best virtues of all their high $ phones.

Just saw the galaxy nexus and s2 at the samsung display on Michigan ave. screens looked much better - beautiful screen, for the most part. Was reading the samsung mobile Facebook page that they have as a homepage. The text was notably LESS sharp than on my iPhone. Multiple sets of eyes confirmed it in a 1:1 comparison. They just are, in the words of Ilya Bryzgalov, "humongous big". If there was a version in the 3.5-4" size like an iPhone, id really be into it. It feels less substantial/more plastic, but not low quality, and feels light in handling versus even an iPhone, and given its size. It wasn't easy to navigate, maybe it was the demo mode or whatever, but the iPhone is more intuitive and seamless. I'm sure they are quirks that would be easily gotten over, but for now, need work. Next generation, if they have a 4" version, it will be a real tough call, the Samsung phones are REALLY nice and good. It's just that if an iPhone is 95% of ideal, the Sammy is like 90%. If the Sammy's are $150 and $250, they don't really give a huge price advantage. I'm confident in my selection of the iPhone for now, but Sammy is integrating phones that are getting there. Not worth buying just yet though... IMO.

I ended up with a nexus s but its an newer version it's alot easier. To use and well so far does everything as good or better than the evo 4g

Thick!!! I keep my phone in my pocket in a minimalist form (no plastic case bulking it up), so that phone is too thick.
