What would you do if you met the guy who dinged your door?

I gotta order some body side moldings for the new car.

Chances are your door gets always hit just above or just below the protective molding. Those molding are usually also ugly.

I remember seeing a list of car models that would ding each other, where one would ding the other without getting dinged itself, etc. Luck is an angry lady.

I definitely avoid parking next to beaters, because their owners have less reason to be careful than a guy with a new luxury car. I also avoid parking next to cars with huge doors that have to be opened wide to let somebody in or out. After ten years, my car has one small driver's side door ding. [/QUOTE]

Carrying a gun just because you can is not a good idea IMO. We're all human and an argument with the wrong person could escalate into a killing pretty quickly. After you pull yer piece and cap someone there's no turning back.

You might also

1. cap yourself
2. cap a bystander
3. get capped first

Now, if we all were to carry lightsabers like "in more civilized days" (Thanks, Ben Kenobi!), we all could lop off arms and legs in the supermarket parking lot. Alas, life isn't a fantasy (for most people).

Lightsabers, huh?
How about sticks?
Not that I'd any sooner smack anybody with a stick than I'd shoot them. As I said, a car isn't worth a life.
And if one really were to follow the old "eye for an eye" routine, there's still be no reason to do more than put an identical ding in the offending person's vehicle.
But this is silly and childish.
One thing can often lead to another.
There was mention of people needing to have a sense of repercussions for their acts. The same goes for those who would seek payback. Your trifling act of vengeance may result in a bigger one coming your way.

moribundman,
given the aveage skills of the average guy, there would be a whole mess of light sabres zinging and clashing at the Earth's core.

Think about it, what happens if you drop it ?

Never pull a gun on anyone unless you're willing for the other person or yourself to end up dead over whatever hissy fit one is having at the moment.

Well you DO have a lot of very good insight... and are extremely well read, shedding yet more precious insight onto a lot of topics...

But sometimes youre a bit out there for me... just as I know that my thoughts are out there to others, likely even yourself. I guess that is what makes a site like this so good.

Just don't forget that a lot of the safeguars that protect the idiots from themselves also protect us from the idiots!
