I read that the new M1 Supersyn has esters in it that were not found in the M1 Tri-synthetic formulation... does anyone here know what types of esters are now found in M1, and in what proportions? (1%? 10%? more?)

And why are they better than straight PAO? Increased additive solubility? EP/FM/other additive effect?

I recall that Molakule gave his best guess on the amount of Ester in Mobil 1. I believe he mentioned 15%. I can't find the thread

The Ester also improves the lubricity of the PAO in addition (as was mentioned) counters the seal shrinkage of the PAO and it enhances additive solubility.
