What do you guys think of Lucas products. I've had people swear up and down to use the oil stabilizer stuff . So I'm wondering what yall think. thanks guys

No thanks to the oil stabilizer. I'll trust the professional chemists at Shell, Ashland, Exxon, etc before I'd trust them. Especially because it is so generic, even if it worked, it likely wouldn't work equally as well with all oils due to different base stocks, and addpack chemistry. I did use their PS Stop leak stuff once in my cavalier when I changed the fluid with Valvoline High-Mileage PSF. Together, it really quieted down, and smoothed out the power steering, and decreased effort when stopped. I've used the UCL when it's been buy one get one at Advance.

As far as oil goes, likely far better choices for the money. Go with Motorcraft blend if you want a blend, or even PYB. Full syn, PP or QSUD.

Walmart should carry Supertech Dexron VI, Mercon V which are the most commonly used stuff. Mobil 1 ATF is good for most vehicles iirc.

What vehicle is it for? All Dexron VI and Mercon V are minimum Semi-synthetic.

If you want to order online, Redline and Amsoil are well liked here. I use Redline D4 ATF in a application that calls for Dexron III and I have used it in a application that calls for Mercon V. It has worked very well for me in those applications, but it IS expensive. Many online places offer FREE shipping (amazon on orders over $25 that ship from one of their warehouses and other places are free over $100). If you go with Amsoil, please contact one of the site amsoil site sponsors, like Pablo, and let them give you a quote. I have NO experience with any of the Lucas products, so I cannot comment on them.

I read that Lucas in engine oil foams up.Of course most people who add it to the oil, never actually see what happens inside when the engine is running...so...they think its working good. I hear that the Trans Fix product just clumps on the bottom of the pan.And that the gas additive is just thin, light oil.

Well I can personally say I watched a Ford Taurus with a transmission that wouldn't go 5mph the Tranny was toast and he put the Lucas Tranny fluid fix [censored] in there and it lasted for 6 months until the engine threw a rod. So I can say it helps Trannys on there last leg I have also used the power steering dtop leak it went from using a bottle an hour to using a bottle a week. Not fixed but a good improvement. But I dont use them stuff anymore don't have awful vehicles that being said oreillys has some Lucas multi car Tranny fluid. 7.49 a quart i was thinking of using it in my Saturn 5 sp manual

Ditto, but the spec sheet is a bit unusual and I can't say I trust it.

20w50 dumped in there would have done the same thing. It's a thickener, so if the tranny is toast and not holding enough line pressure to stay in gear, chucking some thicker stuff in there will indeed limp it along for a while. But rest assured, it didn't "fix" anything.

Yea I agree. It wouldn't help anything that wasn't already screwed. Besides there additives do they make good stuff like there motor oil and Tranny fluid?

I'm sure it's fine to use as long as its DexIII.
