My focus has continental conti pro contact tires amd let me say i am very unhappy with their lasting ability. They wear very quick. So by winter ill probably need new tires. Do you guys also share the same experience with these tires that they wear quickly and what would be a good set to put on it next

So what's more important, wearing like iron or snow traction? Do you want good dollars per mile or would you pay a mint to get 75,000 miles?

Can you get them mounted free at work?

I had the same tires as factory on the Hyundai, They were shot at 24k miles. I have michelin defenders on there now, so far they are great. Slightly firmer ride.

pro contact? Ours lasted 60k miles on the VW and still had decent tread.

We replaced with Michelin primacy MXM4 and couldn't be happier.

Most OE tires aren't as good as aftermarket tires, even those that share the same name.

What size are you shopping for? 215/55-16?

My first choice would be the Dunlop Signature II.

Kumho is coming out with a new grand touring tire called the Solus TA71 next month. It will replace the Ecsta LX Platinum.

A good balance honestly if they last 40-50,000 i am happy. Not what they say theyll do but actually real world lasting. I get center wear on these tires running the factory recommend psi...im at 14,000 and ill probably want them gone by 25,000 but since winter will be starting in 5 months i may replace them before then. Im at about 8 on fronts and 6 on rears. They were rotated at 10,000. So the rears were on the front for the first 10,000 which is why they have more wear.

Please list your car's tire size when asking for recommendations. It doesn't help to recommend a tire that isn't available in your size.

I really like my newish Continental PureContacts (with EcoPlus!). They are wearing well but have only a little over 6K miles on them.

Capriracer stated that the same name tire sold by tire dealers is different than the one on the car from the factory.

Michelin. Just replaced the M's on the wife's Wrangler....with 159k miles on them.

I mostly use Michelin primacy mxv4. It's good if you are willing to pay little more. I tried Bridgestone Turanza serenity. It was pretty good. I am willing to try a few more brand. Maybe Firestone. ???

I agree (except for the Hankook part), Michelins are not perfect and my grandmother's Trailblazer has had 2 garbage sets and my car has had 1 garbage set. They all wore like iron but they dry rot like you wouldn't believe and I had one of my Michelins decide to cup so bad it made it sound like my car was an airplane.

I hated MXV4's, wore well, good wet traction--lousy in snow and wore fast. But I have a bad size apparently.

I like the RT43's although to be honest they are too new to know. Early indications indicate a 40k tire, which is inline with price.

I had Nokian entyres (not the new version) and was happy with those); only tire I have taken to 50k, albeit deep into the wear bars at that point. Pricey though.

I also have rt43 in my Camry. It is too early to tell. I paid $410. I saved $140. Even if I get 50k on it, I be happy.
